Mystery, history, beautiful scenery and warm welcomes are to be found in a region dominated by the Sahara desert. North Africa is no stranger to travellers, being in the unique position of sitting on the top of Africa, close to Europe and stretching from the Atlantic to the Asian continent, travellers have been exploring this region for millennia. Mostly they came to trade goods, gold from Africa, spices from India and silks from China . Many came, from the ancient Greeks to Napoleon's armies and many stayed. The traders have now given way to the travellers and from the Kasbahs of Morocco to the pyramids in Egypt you will hear the same word as all that came before "welcome!"
