BRIEF ITINERARY |
Day 1 Arrive Lima
You can arrive at any time.
Day 2 Fly to Cuzco
Explore this friendly colonial town. Wind your way through the cobblestone streets and discover the nearby Inca ruins, markets, museums and churches.
Day 3, 4 Volunteer with Street Children
Volunteer at Inti Runakunaq Wasin, a drop in center for street children supported by Planeterra – the G.A.P Adventures Foundation. Play games, help with homework, teach English, help with the cooking, and participate in various workshops such as leather working and jewelry making.
Days 5, 6 Ccaccaccollo Community (2B, 2L, 2D)
Spend two days in this rural community, home to Inca Trail Porters and a women’s weaving cooperative developed and supported by Planeterra. Participate in the daily life of local families. Activities may include planting, maintaining or harvesting crops, learning to weave, building construction and visiting the local school.
Day 7 Sacred Valley
Travel through the Sacred Valley, including the picturesque town and Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Day 8-11 Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (3B, 3L, 3D)
Hike the ancient trail of the Incas. Local porters and guides ensure that the trip is worry-free. Fascinating ruins and spectacular mountain scenery fill every day of the hike. On the final day, climb the steps to Intipunku, the 'Sun Gate', to watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu.
Day 12 Cuzco
Relax or explore the city or shop for souvenirs in the colourful Cuzco markets. Other options include visiting nearby spiritual sites of Sacsayhuaman and Tambo Machay, rafting, horseback riding and mountain biking.

TRAVEL STYLE |
Volunteer style tours are designed as a way to give back to the people and places we visit on our adventures. Experience true cultural immersion by working alongside local people to improve basic living conditions through hands-on volunteer projects. Trips are balanced with both volunteer activities and plenty time to relax and explore. After the volunteer portion of each tour, we visit some of the country’s highlights.
Transportation - Anything that moves. Bus, train, plane, canoe, kayak, bike, ferry, rickshaw and good old foot power.
Accommodation - Locally owned guesthouses, homestays, camping. Some rustic and multishare accommodation.
Group and Staff - Max 12 travellers. G.A.P and local leaders.
Meals - Meals included on volunteer portion of tour. Plenty of time to explore your own tastes.
