BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrive Mexico City: Arrive in Mexico City at any time.

Day 2 Taxco: Wander through the streets of this historic, hillside town. Taxco is perhaps the best preserved Spanish colonial city in Mexico.

Day 3-4 Acapulco: Continue to the legendary beach resort of Acapulco. Hop on a local waterfront bus and explore the many hidden coves searching for your favourite beach.

Day 5 Playa Azul / Night bus: Travel to Playa Azul to take a swim in the ocean, savour fresh seafood and relax in a hammock before boarding your night bus to Puerto Vallarta.

Day 6-7 Puerto Vallarta: Travel up the coast, passing countless uninhabited beaches as well as mango, coconut, and papaya plantations. Puerto Vallarta boasts a charming atmosphere, seaside promenade and golden sand beaches. Just relax, go snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing or whale watching.

Day 8-9 Guadalajara: A pure "Mexican" city, Guadalajara is the birthplace of mariachi music, tequila and sombreros. The city is filled with museums, historical buildings and plenty of nightlife. Stroll through town, visit the cathedral, plazas and theatres or take a distillery tour in nearby Tequila.

Day 10-11 Guanajuato: On to Guanajuato, which was home to 40% of the world's silver mines for nearly two centuries. It is now an opulent Spanish colonial city and stands as a living monument to a prosperous and turbulent past.

Day 12 San Miguel de Allende: San Miguel de Allende is a charming colonial town filled with artists and galleries, with some of the best handicrafts and folk art shopping in Mexico.

Day 13-14 Mexico City: This multi-layered megatropolis is home to an endless list of cultural wonders, the best anthropology museum for Mexican archaeology, the largest plaza (the Zócalo), the Zona Rosa, Aztec historical sites and a vibrant street life. Visit the Teotihuacán ruins, site of the awesome Pyramids of the Sun and Moon.
