BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrive Buenos Aires: Arrive in Buenos Aires at any time.

Day 2-5 Night Bus / Salta: Take in the region's spectacular scenery on a lovely trip across the mountains. Later, explore the Salta by bike, riding to historic San Bernardo Hill. On your return to the city, be sure to try empanadas - the delicious local specialty.

Day 6-7 Cafayate: Cafayate is a charming small town surrounded by colourful mountains. Explore the area by bicycle, or visit the Quilmes Ruins, remnants of the ancient indigenous peoples. Make sure to taste some of the great local wines!

Day 8 Tucumán: Travel by bus to Tucumán, the charming city where Argentineans proclaimed -and still celebrate- their independence. Take an optional visit to explore the Yungas, a region of fascinating scenery where mountains and rainforest come together to form a unique ecosystem.

Day 9-10 Chilecito: Visit the Cactus Botanical Garden, tour the oldest gold mine in Argentina and roam where the dinosaurs once roamed at the Talampaya and Ischigualasto National Parks.

Day 11-13 Mendoza / Night Bus: The wine capital of Argentina! Take a winery tour and find out why Argentina's wines, especially the Malbec, are renowned by wine experts as some of the world's best. Optional activities include rafting, horse riding and trekking. Travel overnight to Buenos Aires on Day 13.

Day 14 Buenos Aires: Buenos Aires has been called the 'Paris of South America', and it's easy to see why. Take time to explore the diverse neighbourhoods of this European-flavoured city.
